prAna Clothing Review

You read that right. This is a clothing review and has nothing to do with food. As my tagline states, “Adventures of a Hungry Latina is more than just being hungry for food. It’s about being hungry for all the things that life has to offer.” Sometimes that includes clothes, because I’m a lady after all. 😉 But don’t worry, you’ll get food later on this week. But first,  prAna was kind enough to sponsor this post which means that there’s affiliate links throughout the post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. They were also kind enough to give my readers (YOU!) a discount on prAna clothing! Keep reading for the deets! How cool is that?! I do love me a good sale if I say so myself.

This review has been a few weeks in the making and I’m so excited to finally share my thoughts with ya’ll! There’s a few reasons why I decided to partner with prAna. I’m pretty picky with who I partner with because I want to make sure that I’m backing companies that I believe in and actually use their products. I’m never going to mislead my readers into getting things that I actually don’t use or support. I did a lot research prior to partnering with them and I really liked what I saw/read. Here’s a few reasons that attracted me to them:

  • Why Hemp Matters – They make sustainable clothing made out of hemp that is extremely durable and comfortable. While there’s a lot of controversy around hemp products, it truly is nature’s gift to textiles. Their clothing line is incredibly comfortable and soft.
  • Who is prAna? – They make clothing for all walks of life. Whether you’re active or just looking for comfy clothing, they have a piece you will adore. Their clothes are Fair Trade Certified, recycled, organic, bluesign, fluorine and PFOA free. They strive to minimize their impact on the environment with their business practices.
  • Giving Back – They give back to the community. They have collections where a portion of the proceeds will go back to the community. You’re doing good just by purchasing the clothing!

When I was given the opportunity to work with prAna through Mambo Sprouts, I over the moon because this was the first time working with a clothing company. I was also extremely excited because they have a lot of cute clothes on their website. I had the hardest time figuring out which outfit I wanted. I ended up getting the Loveland Wrap in Blush and the Moto Legging in Charcoal. I picked this outfit because I knew it would be something that I would wear regularly and be able to mix and match with other pieces in my closet. There’s just one thing…I totally forgot that we’re still in triple digit weather here in Phoenix and I had planned a photo shoot for this. Didn’t really think that one through very well and it wasn’t one of my brightest ideas that is fo sho. I was wistfully thinking about fall and how nice the crisp air feels right before it gets ridiculously cold and how much I love to bundle up in a warm sweater, leggings and boots. <sigh> I will have to enjoy the wrap come November when I visit my friend Kathy in the Bay Area since it will be freezing there. In the meantime, I can enjoy the leggings anytime since they are super comfy and not hot at all.

Let’s fast forward to the photo shoot. I was literally dying the whole time because it was 100 degrees outside and I was in a sweater, leggings and booties. LOL. That glow you see in the pictures? That was because I was on the verge of a heat stroke. Okay…not really…but it was hot AF even though technically it has cooled down for us here in Phoenix. Despite the heat and how hot I was, the wrap and leggings were super comfortable and I had a great time. I literally cannot wait until it cools down to live in those pieces.

My favorite thing about prAna outfit? It’s versatile and can be worn various ways and still look super cute. I was able to create 4 outfits with just 2 pieces of clothing which makes these perfect for traveling. I really like to try to pack as little as possible so I can carry on my luggage. Not only do you save on baggage fees but you don’t have the fear of losing your luggage. Peace of mind is huge when traveling. The trick to doing that is packing outfits that can be versatile and worn in various ways. The leggings can be paired with pretty much any top and can be used for workout gear if needed. The wrap can be interchanged with various camisoles or t-shirts. They also have other clothes that are specifically made for traveling and an active lifestyle.

prAna also stands behind their clothing. If you are not happy for any reason with your purchase, they will gladly offer you a refund or an exchange. This is extremely important to me especially since they only have an online presence. Plus I’m short and petite and a lot of things don’t fit right because I’m fun sized. As I mentioned earlier, prAna has been kind enough to offer my readers a discount for trying out their clothes. Use code MSF17TM to receive 15% off of your order. You can also get free shipping with a purchase of $99 or more. Share your review on social media using #pranapicks for a chance to win free clothes!

Stay strong my friends!

  1. What a great post. Love the pictures and will have to check out prAna. It’s always good to see a clothing company that cares about where they are sourcing their garments from.

    1. Thanks Tina! I’m so glad you enjoyed the review and pictures. It was great to work with a company that cares about the environment.
